Dreadlocks, 56 months

My dreadlocks turned 4 years and 8 months recently. I wanted to talk to you about how they have changed and how dreadlocks generally will change over time. Also I wanted to address the issue, that a lot of young people ask me, if they should get dreadlocks without school or parents permission. Dreadlocks should be something fun and personal, and never be a struggle. Enjoy it!

    1. Hehe, bad influence ;) Maybe once a week right now. I wash it a lot more during summer, due to saltwater, heat and so on.

I just didn't want to wear them anymore. Didn't feel "the need" to :)

  6. So glad to see you again :) I adore the way you speak. This video was very encouraging. I got a lot of nagging from a guy friend living with me this summer about how much prettier I would be without dreads. Practically every week saying "are you going to get rid of them now" (and then would suggest how). I love my locks. I love dreadlocks. I love YOUR dreadlocks, and seeing you having had them so long and seeming so happy makes me just want to keep them longer (than he would want me to) all the more. Thanks Anna. You're a lovely person!
    love,
    Clare

    1. Haha, guess I'll disappoint you then. "Rum" means "room" in Danish and it's fiction. Amazing book though

  13. Do you ever cut your dreads? The tips have been very fine at the beginning. How does it work? Now they are really big, but is it possible that they change themselves that way :D

  14. When will we see recent pictures of your sisters dreadlocks?

  15. What a difference 2 years made on your appearance, for the better! You've grown mature: virtually no bids nor rubber-bands on your locks; and much less piercings :) Do you still don't wash your hair? Because I got curious about this: you don't just wash it or you don't even get it wet at all? Don't you ever feel the need to? (Also because if you go to the beach you really have to treat your hair after) And last: I think you shouldn't be so 'worried' with the loose hairs and overall perfection of the locks: that's what locks should be all about, in my opinion: natural, free and not perfect so they don't end up looking artificial too. Take care and keep on rocking your locks:)

  17. I love your dreads, and you are beautiful as well. I stopped brushing my hair a while back and naturally it formed a few dreads and as soon as it gets pretty messy I brush it out since I wasn't sure I wanted dreads. So I just had some questions I notice in some of your videos you demonstrate the tear and rip method is that how you started yours? And did you section yours?

  19. You hair is so unique! The average person gets thickening the first year or two then just lengthening. It seems like your hair has thickened for a full five years! Did you do anything special for that to happen? Conditioner maybe? Or just gorgeous genes? :)
